Quality Manager (Re-Advertised)

About the role

Herolim Private Hospital is looking for a Quality Manager, reporting to the Hospital Manager, to join the multidisciplinary team that ensures every patient receives comprehensive quality nursing care. The position is permanent and based in Mthatha, Eastern Cape.

Key responsibilities

• Risk management assessment of all relevant clinical procedures and implementation of controls
• Quality management and infection control
• Compiling and managing quality processes in the hospital
• Managing, reporting, investigating and closing out quality and environmental incidents and deviations to standards with the multidisciplinary team
• Measuring performance against quality objectives, evaluating results and coordinating corrective action
• Annual risk assessments and quarterly monitoring of hazard/risk management, in line with legal requirements
• Maintaining and updating the risk register and monitoring the effectiveness of risk mitigation actions
• Coordinating the hospital Health & Safety Committee meetings
• Ensuring legal appointments are made, staff trained in their requirements and legal requirements followed
• Guiding the Hospital Manager on health and safety issues and coordinating internal and external reporting of employee injuries and occupational diseases

Required profile

• Registered with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse
• Advantageous: Diploma in Healthcare Management, Risk Management and Infection Control
• At least 3 years' experience in private healthcare
