Quality Control Supervisor

About the role

Mpact Plastics is seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor to lead its QC team in Durban. You will ensure product specifications are met, maintain calibration records, and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities

• Control and document all product specifications and ensure up‑to‑date work instructions are available.
• Train QC staff on procedures, work instructions, and proper use of testing equipment such as Verniers, gauges, scales and knives.
• Monitor daily inspection results, maintain calibration status, and complete log sheets and NCRs.
• Inspect incoming raw material, identify non‑conforming items and isolate them from production.
• Report non‑conformances via the NCR/CAR system to QA and plant technicians for prompt resolution.
• Ensure correct equipment, labels and documentation are used before product release to the warehouse.
• Conduct trend analysis, root‑cause investigations and support internal audits for ISO and FSSC certifications.
• Maintain COA files, work instructions and follow‑up on open non‑conformances until closure.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a supervisory QC role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, ISO standards and FSSC certification requirements.
• Ability to train and lead a team, enforce procedures and drive corrective actions.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under production pressure.
