Quality Assurance Manager – Food Safety & Quality

About the role

Our client, a leading dairy manufacturer in the Durbanville region, is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead its Food Safety Management System. The role ensures compliance with regulatory, customer and certification requirements while driving continuous improvement across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) in line with ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000.
• Lead the Food Safety Team, chair regular meetings and communicate issues to senior management.
• Facilitate HACCP studies, maintain current hazard analyses, and review HACCP plans after any change.
• Plan and coordinate internal, external and ZA audits, and manage supplier quality assurance.
• Investigate food safety incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Prepare Certificates of Analysis for finished products and oversee QA/QC personnel and sanitation teams.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Food Science or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in food manufacturing and quality management.
• Proven experience developing, implementing and maintaining a Quality Management System.
• Strong leadership, communication and team‑player abilities.
• Organised, reliable and punctual with the ability to adapt to a diverse environment.
