Purchaser – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Purchaser will support the supply chain by acquiring goods and components that meet cost, quality, and delivery targets. Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, you will ensure a continuous flow of materials to keep operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Place purchase orders and follow up daily to guarantee uninterrupted supply.
• Maintain clear communication with suppliers, receiving, sales, clearing agencies, and finance.
• Adhere to company purchasing policies and keep accurate records of cost‑saving initiatives.
• Negotiate prices and terms, assess supplier performance, and ensure contract compliance.
• Verify that goods receipt matches invoices and forward supplier invoices to finance for payment.
• Resolve supplier queries promptly and maintain a service degree of at least 95.5%.

Required profile

• Post‑matric qualification in supply chain management, business administration, or financial management.
• 2‑3 years of experience in direct purchasing or material requirements planning (MRP).
• Strong understanding of procurement and supply‑chain processes.
• Ability to work under pressure, strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
