Logistics Supervisor – Transportation & Fleet Management

About the role

The Logistics Supervisor will oversee daily logistics operations, ensuring vehicles are available, maintained, and compliant with safety regulations. This role coordinates with production, distribution, and sales teams to meet transportation priorities and delivery commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily logistics schedules and vehicle availability.
• Ensure dangerous‑goods signage and documentation are correctly displayed on trucks.
• Coordinate transportation needs with production, distribution, and sales managers.
• Conduct spot checks for vehicle cleanliness and proper PPE usage.
• Collect daily vehicle checklists from drivers and report breakdowns to the Logistics Manager.
• Liaise with the workshop for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Train drivers on the driver manual and update the manual as required.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the Logistics Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent; tertiary qualification in Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in transportation or distribution, including vehicle maintenance.
• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role managing drivers.
• Good communication skills in English (verbal & written).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Act.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Understanding of legal requirements for transporting dangerous goods.
