Project Manager – Automotive

About the role

The company seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead automotive projects within its Pretoria business unit. You will be responsible for implementing the Project Management System, coordinating cross‑functional teams, and ensuring projects meet client milestones and financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee implementation and utilization of the Project Management System across the Business Unit.
• Plan, manage, coordinate and financially control projects, ensuring client milestones are achieved.
• Issue and analyse RFQs, negotiate price, delivery and payment terms with approved suppliers.
• Lead supplier APQP, PPAP submissions and production readiness reviews for new award programs.
• Drive Value Analysis / Value Engineering initiatives and cost‑reduction activities.
• Coordinate with all functional areas to meet KPI targets and manage supplier capacity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Management; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on project management experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and matrix‑management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional, matrix‑style environment.

Required skills

• Project Management System proficiency.
• APQP and PPAP processes.
• Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) techniques.
• Stage‑Gate program management.
• PMI certification (preferred).
