Professional Nurse – Primary Healthcare

About the role

Kalapeng Pharmacy is looking for a dedicated, compassionate Professional Nurse to join its team in Pretoria. The role focuses on delivering primary health‑care services, patient education, and supporting the pharmacy’s clinical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary health‑care and professional nursing services to patients.
• Conduct patient assessments, diagnose common conditions within scope, and develop treatment plans.
• Administer medication, immunisations, and prescribed treatments following legislation and clinical guidelines.
• Perform health screenings, routine clinical procedures, and maintain accurate, confidential patient records.
• Deliver health education, counselling, and preventive advice.
• Ensure compliance with SANC regulations, Department of Health guidelines, and pharmacy policies.
• Monitor patient progress, follow‑up, and refer when necessary.
• Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and other health professionals to ensure quality care.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and uphold professional customer service.

Required profile

• Diploma, degree or equivalent nursing qualification.
• Registered Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Minimum three years’ experience as a Registered Professional Nurse, including primary health‑care nursing.
• Computer literacy and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality patient care.
