Production Manager

About the role

An established manufacturing business based in Montague Gardens, Cape Town is seeking an experienced Production Manager on a permanent basis. The role focuses on operational efficiency, quality management, safety, and union engagement to drive overall business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Leading and supervising production staff to achieve daily production targets.
• Monitoring and improving employee productivity, quality, and overall output.
• Ensuring production schedules are met safely, efficiently, and on time.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and workplace organisation throughout the production areas.
• Enforcing company procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Production Management, Operations Management or a related field.
• 5–10 years of manufacturing or production management experience.
• Proven experience leading large teams and working with trade unions.
• Strong background in health and safety management and quality management systems.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
