Production Manager (Animal Feed)

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Manager will lead staff teams to ensure accurate production of bulk animal feed and its bagging, meeting all quality and safety specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure quality and recipe compliance for all feed products
• Plan production schedules and deliver outputs on time
• Control production processes and generate performance reports
• Manage inventory and raw material availability
• Oversee health, safety, hygiene and bio‑security standards
• Maintain plant equipment, oversee maintenance and pest control

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification; tertiary qualification in Operations, Production, Agriculture or Animal Feed Technology is advantageous
• 3‑5 years of production/manufacturing experience, preferably in a feed mill
• Previous supervisory or management experience
• Experience in production planning, inventory control and quality management
• Proficiency with ERP, production and stock‑control systems
• Strong computer literacy
