Production Assistant – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The Production Assistant will support the Production Supervisor in daily manufacturing activities at our Johannesburg facility. This role ensures smooth material flow, safe machine operation, and adherence to quality standards within a fast‑paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Move and organise raw materials, components and finished goods throughout the production process.
• Operate and monitor machinery according to standard operating procedures, ensuring efficiency and safety.
• Perform quality checks on products during and after production to meet company specifications.
• Follow all safety protocols, report hazards, and assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
• Maintain accurate production records, tracking material usage, output and equipment maintenance.
• Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
• Collaborate with team members to support a cohesive production flow.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost efficiency, quality and safety.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate (NQF 4) or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Ability to operate simple machinery and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Physical stamina for manual labour, including lifting, bending and standing for long periods.
• Basic maths and literacy skills for documentation and measurement.
