Product Management & Data Quality Specialist (Assistant Buyer)

Leroy Merlin is building a talent pool for future Product Management & Data Quality Specialist (Assistant Buyer) opportunities. It supports high-quality product data, catalogue optimisation and the operational and commercial success of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update product catalog data throughout the product lifecycle, and monitor its accuracy and completeness across all systems.
• Create, implement and enforce product data standards and governance policies, and run product data quality assurance processes.
• Maintain product range listings and range synoptics, and manage product lifecycle stages.
• Monitor market specifics and stock allocation, and implement and monitor promotional mechanisms.
• Support the Category Manager with data for supplier negotiations, complete the Negotiation Book accurately and on time, and validate supplier franco agreements and replenishment modes.
• Monitor contracts and invoicing in line with legal and accounting procedures.
• Act as the daily point of contact for stores on product data and range matters, and build relationships with Stores, Supply Chain, OmniCommerce, Merchandising, 1P and 3P teams.
• Collaborate with suppliers on product data accuracy, collect and analyse customer feedback and product reviews, and propose improvements to product typology allocation.
• Contribute to cross-functional projects and champion company values.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in product data management, catalog governance or supply chain/product lifecycle roles.
• Proven track record in data quality assurance and maintaining large product catalogs.
• Experience working with retail stores and suppliers on product data accuracy.
• Exposure to commercial processes such as supplier agreements, invoicing compliance and promotions.
