Planner – C3 Maintenance Planning

About the role

The Planner C3 will lead maintenance planning for ongoing operations and major shutdowns at our plant in Pretoria. You will ensure work orders are generated, tracked and completed in line with best‑practice standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain effective maintenance schedules for routine work and plant shutdowns.
• Supervise daily work‑order creation, verification, completion and data capture.
• Monitor system compliance with best‑practice requirements and report deviations.
• Analyse condition‑monitoring alarms promptly and provide timely reports.
• Participate in root‑cause analyses and drive closure of identified problems.
• Produce daily, weekly, month‑end and year‑end departmental performance reports.
• Support departmental audits and ensure adherence to EMS, QMS and other system standards.
• Manage the 5‑year Asset Care Plan, overseeing major asset replacements, renewals and maintenance strategies.

Required profile

• Engineering qualification (minimum National Certificate).
• At least 3 years of technical maintenance and plant engineering experience, preferably in cement or similar heavy‑industry environments.
• Proven experience in planning major shutdowns and long‑term (5‑year) budget and resource planning.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
