Pharmacist Assistant

About the role

Join Lifestyle Pharmacy as a Pharmacist Assistant in Hartebeespoort. You will work on‑site full‑time, supporting the pharmacist with daily dispensing activities and providing friendly customer service in a community‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with prescription preparation and dispensing.
• Handle stock, manage shelves and maintain inventory levels.
• Support basic compounding under supervision, following safety protocols.
• Provide courteous customer service and answer medication‑related questions within your scope.
• Direct complex inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and company policies.
• Process payments using point‑of‑sale systems.
• Collaborate with the broader team to ensure efficient workflow and a positive customer experience.

Required profile

• Knowledge of pharmacy operations, dispensing processes and basic regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting pharmacy technicians or pharmacists in a retail or community setting.
• Foundational understanding of medicines, dosage forms, storage and safe handling.
• Ability to assist with compounding under supervision.
• Strong customer service skills and clear communication.
• Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and labeling.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods in a fast‑paced environment.
• Relevant pharmacy assistant qualification, registration or eligibility to register (preferred).
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with pharmacy or point‑of‑sale systems.
