PBX Technical Assistant

About the role

The PBX Technical Assistant will support senior technicians in installing, configuring and maintaining PBX systems for our clients in Vanderbijlpark. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience with telecommunications equipment and direct interaction with end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with physical installation tasks such as running cables, mounting equipment and connecting wiring under the guidance of a senior technician.
• Support basic system configuration, including programming auto‑attendants, call forwarding and voicemail features.
• Identify and report basic PBX functionality issues, such as poor call quality or connection problems.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts, cables and other PBX supplies.
• Document system configurations and troubleshooting steps accurately.
• Provide basic technical support to end‑users regarding PBX functionality.
• Accompany senior technicians to customer sites for installations, repairs and maintenance.

Required profile

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work safely with telecommunications hardware.
• Basic understanding of PBX concepts and willingness to learn on the job.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
