PBX Technician

About the role

The PBX Technician will be responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of private‑branch‑exchange (PABX) and VoIP solutions for our clients in Vanderbijlpark. The role combines on‑site installation, configuration, testing and post‑installation hand‑over, ensuring reliable voice and data services.

Key responsibilities

• Program, install and maintain PABX systems.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare installation plans.
• Configure ADSL, Wi‑Fi, 3G routers and set up IP‑PBX VoIP networks, SIP trunks and related services.
• Install and troubleshoot data and voice cabling, including fiber, microwave and LTE links.
• Set up voicemail, auto‑attendant, least‑cost‑routing, ring plans and integrate voice with data services.
• Perform fault‑finding analysis and resolve networking issues.
• Ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety regulations and company SOPs.
• Communicate technical findings to customers and provide clear hand‑over documentation.
• Manage allocated boot stock and provide accurate information to the Service Coordinator.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.

Required profile

• Ability to conduct site surveys and detailed fault‑finding analysis.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of health‑and‑safety regulations and SOPs.
• Attention to detail in documentation and stock management.
