Optometrist - Stellenbosch

About the role

An established optometry franchise in the Stellenbosch area of the Western Cape is looking for a dedicated, patient-focused Optometrist to join its team from December 2026 or January 2027. The role suits someone with at least two years of experience who enjoys quality eye care, strong patient relationships and a professional service in a welcoming practice. The salary is negotiable according to experience.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assess patients' visual needs.
• Provide professional advice on eye health, vision correction and appropriate optical solutions.
• Ensure accurate diagnoses and recommend suitable treatment or corrective options within the scope of practice.
• Deliver patient care while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
• Build positive, lasting relationships with patients and help the practice run smoothly.

Required profile

• BOptom qualification with current HPCSA registration.
• At least 2 years of optometry experience.
• Ability to understand Afrikaans and speak English confidently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient-centred approach, professional attitude and commitment to quality eye care.

Working hours

• Monday to Friday: 08:30 - 17:00.
• Saturday: 09:00 - 15:00, three Saturdays per month.
• Sundays and public holidays off, with one full weekend off each month and a half-day Saturday arrangement.
