Optometrist – Durbanville, Western Cape

About the role

An established optometry practice in Durbanville, Western Cape, is looking for a passionate, patient-focused Optometrist to join its team. The practice welcomes both newly qualified and experienced optometrists who want to grow professionally in a team-oriented environment. The ideal start date is 1 December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assess patients' visual needs.
• Provide patient-centred optometric care and recommend suitable vision solutions.
• Assist patients with choosing lenses and eyewear suited to their needs.
• Deliver excellent customer service and build lasting patient relationships.
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow professional standards.
• Work with the practice team to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Required profile

• B.Optom degree.
• Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
• Fluency in both English and Afrikaans.
• Passion for people and eye care, and a commitment to service excellence.
• Team-oriented attitude with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience of 1-3 years; newly qualified optometrists are encouraged to apply.
