Ops Specialist: Project Management

About the role

The Ops Specialist – Project Management is responsible for executing large IT projects, ensuring they meet agreed scope, timeframe, budget and quality standards. The role also provides guidance and support to junior project staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input in project plans to determine scope and timelines, ensuring quality and successful execution.
• Produce detailed work plans with appropriate timelines and match resources against project priorities.
• Coordinate delivery of multiple smaller projects to successful completion in line with scope, timeframe and service level agreements.
• Monitor governance and quality of projects according to BCX regulations and policies.
• Provide onsite direction and guidance to team members to meet timelines.
• Track and report on project status, performance, deliverables, dependencies and timeframes.
• Identify project risks and recommend action plans to ensure on‑time delivery.
• Document project management processes, including meeting minutes and progress reports.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery.

Required profile

• 3‑year degree/diploma in Project Management or Business Administration (or Grade 12).
• Minimum 3 years of project management experience in a retail environment (5 years acceptable).
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2 or PMBOK certification, or equivalent.
