O&M Field Engineer – Solar & BESS

About the role

As an O&M Field Engineer you will work on‑site in Kenhardt, South Africa, ensuring the optimal performance of solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets. You will be responsible for specialised electrical, electronic, network communication and mechanical tasks, with a focus on inverters and BESS equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform modification, repair and maintenance of electrical, electronic, network communication and mechanical equipment.
• Lead plant‑level investigations into incidents, abnormal equipment conditions and performance issues.
• Execute switching, isolation, earthing and LOTO duties according to authorisation level.
• Support preventative and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Ensure inverter and BESS availability through technical troubleshooting.
• Carry out LV and HV switching as authorised.

Required profile

• National Technical Diploma (N6) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant experience with solar PV and BESS equipment.
• Ability to work safely on‑site and follow LOTO procedures.
