About the role
The Building Company is hiring a permanent Merchandiser in Tokai, Western Cape. The role covers managing the customer base, achieving sales and gross profit targets, merchandising stock and supporting customers.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the customer base and provide customer service
- Achieve sales and gross profit targets
- Merchandise stock, ensure it is displayed correctly and comply with merchandising standards
- Follow up on quotes and place stock
- Receive and check goods, report on damaged stock and on depletion or removal of stock
- Handle stock not removed from the location and maintain equipment
- Run product promotions and help customers
- Handle administration and reporting
Required profile
- Matric (Grade 12)
- 1-2 years' experience in a similar position, including 1 year of shelf packing/merchandising
- Knowledge of the general building material environment is essential
- Proven success in personal selling, customer service and converting leads into sales
- Ability to manage and coordinate regular stock takes and to interact with customers
