Medical Receptionist

About the role

Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto, Gauteng is looking for a Medical Receptionist. The role covers welcoming clients, managing appointments and handling client enquiries while supporting the psychologist's practice.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist clients with warmth and professionalism.
• Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations and reminders.
• Handle client enquiries by phone, email and in person.
• Maintain client records in line with HPCSA and POPIA standards.
• Process payments, issue receipts and assist with billing.
• Support administrative and clerical tasks so daily operations run smoothly.
• Liaise with the psychologist and ensure efficient client flow between sessions.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethics at all times.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) required; a relevant diploma or certificate in Office Administration or Medical Reception is an advantage.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare or psychology practice setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Professional demeanour, discretion and emotional intelligence.
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
