About the role
The Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto, Gauteng is looking for hospital cleaners. The work covers general cleaning, disinfection and laundry duties in the clinical environment.
Key responsibilities
- Mop floors and wipe them down.
- Clean lockers, steel dust bins and basins.
- Clean toilets and mark a checklist three times a day.
- Replace hand towels and refill soap bottles in cubicles, side wards, bathrooms and toilet areas.
- Clean lockers, bedsteads, curtain rails and trolleys.
- Clean, disinfect and carry out terminal cleaning.
- Clean machines, double mop units, mops, buckets, dusters and dusting cloths after use; clean equipment three times a week.
- Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are kept safely.
- Carry out all laundry duties.
Required profile
- Minimum of Grade 10 and above.
- At least 1 year of cleaning or laundry experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Able to read, write and work as part of a team.
- Able to work shifts.
- Knowledge of customer service, self-driven and motivated.
