Mechanical Engineer – Data Centres & Critical Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design, develop and support reliable, safe and energy‑efficient mechanical systems for data centres and critical infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems, prepare layouts, schematics, equipment schedules and technical documentation.
• Perform cooling‑load, heat‑load, airflow, pressure‑drop and equipment‑sizing calculations.
• Specify HVAC and precision cooling solutions, select pumps, piping, valves and heat‑rejection equipment.
• Develop resilient cooling designs incorporating N, N+1, N+2 and 2N redundancy.
• Support tender preparation, technical proposals and supplier evaluations.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, civil, architectural and controls teams and assist with site surveys, installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

Required profile

• BEng, BSc or BTech in Mechanical Engineering with 3–5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in data centres, critical infrastructure, HVAC or mission‑critical environments.
• Practical knowledge of mechanical system design, equipment selection, installation and commissioning.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally and internationally.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor or similar 3D design software.
• Knowledge of ANSYS or equivalent FEA/CFD tools.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, precision cooling, chilled‑water and DX systems.
• Familiarity with pumps, piping, valves, hydraulic principles and cooling‑tower equipment.
