Marketing Assistant

About the role

AIDC, a government-owned public entity supporting the South African automotive industry, is recruiting a Marketing Assistant for its Marketing Department in the Automotive Supplier Park offices at Rosslyn and Satellite Sites. The post reports directly to the Marketing and Events Manager on a permanent employment contract with a three-month probation period.

Key responsibilities

• Events coordination: help run internal and external events and sponsorships, manage invitee lists, RSVPs, registrations, gift sourcing and branding, arrange photography and maintain a marketing contact database
• Brand management support: source and distribute branded gifts, stock promotional items, coordinate business cards and ensure Brand Manual compliance
• Marketing and communications: contribute to the internal and group newsletter, help craft targeted messages, represent the department at internal committees, assist the web designer and maintain the internal notice board
• Schedule monitoring: track events, publicity, publications and deadlines, compile project schedules and send deadline reminders
• Marketing administration: secretarial work such as photocopying, scanning, filing, correspondence, travel arrangements, taking minutes, compiling presentations, procurement requests and invoice tracking

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and a Higher Certificate in Marketing or Communications
• At least 1 year of relevant experience
