Managing Director South Africa

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is recruiting a Managing Director for South Africa, an onsite role based primarily in an HPE office. The role provides full P&L accountability for the Enterprise Group business and general management responsibility across HPE in the country, serving as the senior HPE representative to employees, customers, partners, government bodies, industry associations and media.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute country-wide and Enterprise Group growth strategies aligned to HPE's business objectives.
• Ensure an operating model that delivers business targets, employee engagement and customer satisfaction.
• Promote and support selling across the HPE portfolio and foster a high-performance sales culture.
• Sponsor large strategic deals, resolve pricing and commercial issues, manage customer escalations and ensure accurate forecasting.
• Optimize field selling investments and resources to meet business and order targets.
• Represent HPE legally and support HR on employee relations, works councils, unions and negotiations.
• Drive compliance with company policies, laws, regulations and local governance requirements.
• Own fiduciary responsibilities including balance sheet, cash flow, financial performance, payroll, pensions, banking and taxes.
• Lead crisis management, business continuity, environmental health and safety and risk management.
• Lead country management teams, conduct business reviews, oversee workforce planning and enable country marketing, social innovation, transformation and corporate initiatives.
• Drive talent reviews, succession planning, employee engagement, culture initiatives and leadership communications.

Required profile

• Substantial leadership experience in the international IT industry and recent experience in a global, matrixed organization.
• Proven record as a General Manager with P&L ownership of a technology or capital goods organization, and success leading sales organizations.
• Established senior-level network and customer relationships in South Africa.
• Fluency in English and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
