Manager, Business Intelligence & Performance Excellence

About the role

The role leads enterprise intelligence, overseeing APP monitoring, KPI governance, performance analytics and executive dashboards. It supports the CEO, EXCO and Board with data‑driven insights for performance, sustainability, risk and accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead APP monitoring, quarterly performance reporting and evidence management across the organisation.
• Develop and institutionalise enterprise health, CEO, Board dashboards and executive scorecards.
• Establish KPI governance standards, data quality controls and reporting calendars.
• Coordinate performance reporting inputs from programmes and departments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Analyse performance trends, root causes and risks, providing recommendations for executive action.
• Drive automation and digital intelligence through Power BI, data modelling and AI‑enabled reporting.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years in organisational performance, business planning, monitoring & evaluation or BI.
• At least 3 years in a management or specialist leadership role.
• Proven experience designing dashboards and converting data into management insights.
• Experience preparing performance reports for senior leadership or boards.
• Knowledge of KPI frameworks, results‑based management, PFMA, DPME and public sector audit processes.
