Management Accountant

About the role

A large, established trading and logistics business is looking for a Management Accountant to join its finance team in Cape Town. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will support transactional accounting, balance‑sheet reconciliations and month‑end reporting for international trade entities, gaining exposure to multi‑currency operations and global supply chains.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare trading profit and loss statements and balance‑sheet reconciliations in line with IFRS and US GAAP.
• Oversee inventory valuation and accrual accounting.
• Process bank transactions and maintain accurate accounting records across multiple currencies.
• Execute month‑end close procedures, including accruals, pre‑payments and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2‑5 years of accounting experience in a commercial environment.
• Proven experience with balance‑sheet reconciliations and month‑end close.
• Exposure to multi‑currency operations, commodity markets or international trade is an advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle, Syspro or Evolution.
• Experience with Power BI and process‑automation tools (advantageous).

What we offer

• Competitive CTC of R40 000 – R50 000 per month.
