Maintenance Technician – Packaging Machines

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a leading food and beverage manufacturing plant in Stellenbosch. The role focuses on keeping packaging equipment running efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime and high product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance on packaging machines, including preventive and corrective work.
• Diagnose and repair electronic breakdowns on production equipment.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections of all machinery and generate work orders as needed.
• Maintain optimal equipment performance and minimise losses through proactive maintenance.

Required profile

• Qualification as a Millwright or equivalent technical certification.
• Minimum of 5 years’ hands‑on technical experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Experience in FMCG beverage manufacturing, particularly bottling and canning lines.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electronic faults.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance of packaging equipment.
• Preventive and breakdown maintenance techniques.
• Electronic fault finding and basic electrical repairs.
• Familiarity with Krones machines and CFT machines (advantageous).
