Logistics-Warehouse Manager

About the role

Primary position is to oversee and manage all operations and administration of the distribution warehouse, including receiving, processing, dispatching and delivery of stock to stores. The role also involves managing staff and controlling logistics costs in line with the annual budget.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure efficient stock flow through the warehouse while maintaining accuracy and meeting receiving, picking, packing and shipping deadlines.
• Coordinate with buying, finance and operations to maximise stock movement and minimise discrepancies and losses.
• Plan and schedule staff, shift personnel as needed, and manage a workforce of approximately 120 employees.
• Control departmental expenses, packing and transport costs, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Oversee fleet maintenance, vehicle licensing and external transport service providers to ensure safe and cost‑effective deliveries.
• Manage procurement of tags, stationery, cleaning materials, store equipment and company uniforms, and control distribution to stores.
• Lead the warehouse team in improving procedures, standardising processes and enhancing overall efficiency and accuracy.

Required profile

• Minimum 5‑10 years experience in a similar logistics or warehouse management role.
• Ability to work under pressure, use own initiative and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and drive productivity.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence (unendorsed).
• Matric qualification; diploma or certificate in logistics/warehousing is an advantage.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
