Logistics Coordinator – Shipping & Freight Operations

About the role

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for processing bookings and overseeing day‑to‑day operations for assigned customers. The role ensures smooth communication between clients, shipping lines, and internal teams while maintaining accurate operational data.

Key responsibilities

• Attend client and operation planning meetings.
• Provide shipping options, routes, stack dates, ETDs and ETAs to clients.
• Verify and forward line booking confirmations, ensuring correct freight contracts are captured.
• Enter operational data such as container numbers, product and temperature information into the system.
• Coordinate with intermodal partners on container changes, amendments, or issues.
• Communicate equipment and depot issues with shipping lines and clients.
• Obtain and share supporting documents (packing lists, addendums, commercial invoices) with the Documentation Controller.
• Manage deadlines with shipping lines and other parties, arranging late arrivals when needed.
• Inform customers of additional charges and secure written acceptance.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (essential) and preferably a diploma in Shipping, Clearing & Freight Forwarding, Distribution, Logistics or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in sea and air freight forwarding, preferably export‑focused.
• Availability for after‑hours work.
• Strong organisational, communication and detail‑orientation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Workspace.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
