Logistics Co‑ordinator

About the role

The Logistics Co‑ordinator will oversee the movement of materials, products and deliveries for the company. You will manage both the internal fleet and external transport providers to ensure safe, on‑time and cost‑effective operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily deliveries and collections.
• Coordinate the company’s fleet and third‑party transport providers.
• Liaise with drivers, suppliers, customers and production teams.
• Track deliveries, resolve transport‑related issues and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure vehicles are serviced, licensed, roadworthy and compliant with company policies.
• Monitor fuel usage, maintenance costs and vehicle performance.
• Obtain transport quotations and negotiate rates where appropriate.
• Prepare delivery schedules, route plans and shipping documentation.
• Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Support health‑and‑safety compliance and transport regulations.
• Assist with stock movement and warehouse coordination as needed.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification; logistics or supply‑chain qualification is advantageous.
• 2‑3 years of experience in logistics, fleet or transport coordination.
• Strong planning, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver’s licence is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with logistics or ERP systems.
