Warehouse Supervisor

About the role

The Warehouse Supervisor will lead a team of forklift drivers and pickers to ensure safe, efficient, and customer‑focused operations at our Umhlanga Rocks distribution centre. You will balance high service levels with cost control while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain site safety standards, lead the Safety, Health and Environmental Committee, and enforce legislation such as the OSH Act and Road Traffic Act.
• Supervise forklift drivers and pickers, address customer queries, and ensure turnaround times meet warehouse standards.
• Manage stock quality by applying rotation principles, checking packaging, and conducting accurate inventory counts.
• Coordinate loading and unloading of vehicles, verify pallet quantities, and record returns.
• Communicate vision, mission and performance expectations to all staff, provide coaching, and uphold a healthy industrial‑relations climate.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising warehouse or logistics teams.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Ability to lead, coach and mentor staff while maintaining punctuality and attendance standards.
• Excellent communication with stock clerks, controllers and senior management.
