About the role
The Licence Officer role supports the Roads and Transport Department by registering and licensing motor vehicles across all regions, ensuring compliance with the National Road Traffic Act.
Key responsibilities
- Handle enquiries, complaints and direct the public to the appropriate sections.
- Receive, check and process vehicle registration and licensing applications, verifying all documentation against the National Road Traffic Act and its regulations.
- Perform daily tasks at the Licensing Services Centre, including appointments, renewals, cashier duties and archiving.
- Record all transactions in the document tracking system and forward verified applications to supervisors for further processing.
Required profile
- Grade 12 qualification with at least six months of administrative experience.
- Willingness to work shifts, standby and overtime, and to undergo criminal record and fingerprint checks.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and good communication skills.
Required skills
- Computer literacy.
