Learning Officer Engineering

About the role

The Learning Officer Engineering will co‑design, deliver and evaluate training programmes that boost safety, technical competence and productivity for Valterra Platinum’s mining workforce in Rustenburg. The role ensures employees are prepared for current and future operational demands while complying with industry regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging training sessions using e‑learning, classroom instruction and on‑the‑job methods.
• Customise learning content for diverse audiences and coordinate external trainers when required.
• Assess training effectiveness, track performance data and continuously improve learning delivery.
• Maintain compliance with MQA, SAQA and other regulatory standards, keeping accurate records of participant progress.
• Co‑design comprehensive programmes covering safety, technical skills, leadership and regulatory compliance based on needs assessments.
• Partner with subject‑matter experts to run workshops, simulations and other practical learning activities.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to safety and the ability to promote zero‑harm principles.
• Experience facilitating training for technical and operational audiences.
• Ability to evaluate training impact on employee performance and operational efficiency.
• Attention to detail in maintaining training records and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with subject‑matter experts.
