Laundry Master

About the role

The Laundry Master oversees all onboard laundry operations, ensuring guest laundry, crew uniforms, linen processing, and dry‑cleaning meet the highest standards of cleanliness, fabric care and hygiene. The role ensures smooth, safe and efficient operations while complying with maritime and company standards. You will be responsible for maintaining equipment, inventory and hygiene standards throughout the vessel.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all stages of the laundry process—including washing, drying, pressing, folding, and dry‑cleaning—to guarantee high‑quality results.
• Manage guest laundry and dry‑cleaning services, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Lead, train and supervise laundry attendants, pressers and machine operators, fostering a skilled team.
• Monitor and maintain laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, presses and folders for safe and effective operation.
• Control inventory of laundry supplies, including detergents, fabric softeners, chemicals and packaging materials.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the laundry area in compliance with USPH and cruise‑line standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of linen and uniforms to uphold quality control standards.
• Ensure smooth, safe and efficient laundry operations in accordance with maritime and company regulations.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• South African passport.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant laundry experience.
