About the role

Sylvania Metals is looking for a Junior Metallurgist to support plant management in achieving operational excellence. The role focuses on applying metallurgical expertise to optimise processes, conduct testing and ensure quality control within a leading PGM mining environment.

Key responsibilities

Monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain optimal plant performance.
Perform metallurgical testing and mineral processing analyses.
Identify and troubleshoot metallurgical issues in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at safety, efficiency and production targets.
Document results and provide recommendations for process optimisation.

Required profile

Entry‑level graduate with a background in metallurgy, mineral processing or related engineering discipline.
Strong analytical mindset and ability to work in a team‑oriented environment.
Commitment to safety standards and operational excellence.
