Junior IT Support Technician

About the role

SRG Recruitment is advertising a full-time Junior IT Support Technician position in the Western Cape, South Africa. The role covers first-line helpdesk support, Microsoft 365 administration and basic network and device tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support by troubleshooting hardware, software, network and connectivity issues, manage helpdesk tickets and keep users informed
• Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, including user accounts, licensing, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and Copilot support
• Configure and prepare devices for new employees, maintain the IT asset register and assist with hardware upgrades and replacements
• Support basic network and infrastructure work, including Wi-Fi troubleshooting, site checks and escalation of complex issues
• Assist with IT projects, upgrades and migrations while following security policies, keeping documentation and reporting potential security risks

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in IT support or helpdesk; CompTIA A+ and/or N+ certification is advantageous
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and customer service skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive)
• Fundamental networking concepts
• Exposure to Active Directory/Azure AD and IT asset management tools such as Lansweeper
