Junior Demand Planner – Retail (Midrand)

About the role

The Junior Demand Planner will support forecasting and replenishment for a retail operation, ensuring the right products reach the right stores at the right time. You will work closely with buyers, merchandise planners and supply‑chain teams to improve forecast accuracy and minimise stock outs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining sales and demand forecasts for stores and distribution centres.
• Analyse historical sales, seasonal trends, promotions and market influences to predict product demand.
• Monitor stock levels, identify potential shortages or excesses, and support timely allocation.
• Review daily, weekly and monthly sales performance and provide recommendations to improve inventory turnover.
• Highlight over‑forecasted and under‑forecasted deals to manage risk of excess stock or lost sales.
• Collaborate with buyers, store operations, procurement and suppliers during demand review meetings.
• Prepare demand planning reports, dashboards and maintain accurate data in planning systems.

Required profile

• Matric certificate.
• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Retail Business Management, Statistics, Economics, Business Management, Commerce or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in retail demand planning or a similar analytical role.
