About the role

We are looking for a professional and organised IOD Case Coordinator to work part‑time (approximately 4–5 hours daily) in Port Elizabeth. The role involves coordinating work‑hardening and Injury‑on‑Duty cases, ensuring all documentation is complete and liaising with medical and employer stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate administrative processes for work‑hardening and IOD cases.
  • Track referrals and verify receipt of all required documentation.
  • Follow up on medical reports, ICD‑10 codes, referrals and outstanding IOD paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and case‑tracking systems.
  • Monitor active cases to ensure timelines and processes are adhered to.
  • Liaise with therapists, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders regarding missing information.
  • Communicate professionally with employers, HR departments, doctors, hospitals, patients and funders.
  • Handle telephone and email correspondence efficiently.
  • Assist with scheduling, reporting and electronic filing systems.

Required profile

  • Previous experience in medical administration, healthcare coordination or case‑management support.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Computer literate with ability to manage multiple tasks and follow‑up consistently.
  • Experience in occupational health, physiotherapy, OT, medical practice or insurance environments is advantageous.
  • Experience with IOD/COIDA administration is highly beneficial.
