Investment Officer

About the role

The Investment Officer will join a purpose‑driven SME investment team that supports entrepreneurs with financing, mentorship and technical assistance. You will play a key role in sourcing, evaluating and structuring investments that create real value for the SME sector.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research to identify potential clients and strategic partnership opportunities.
• Organise and attend networking events, conferences and industry forums to expand the business network.
• Perform comprehensive due‑diligence to assess financial health and risk of target companies.
• Develop detailed financial models, including revenue forecasts, cost analysis, risk assessment and return calculations.
• Prepare investment reports that communicate findings, risks and expected returns to stakeholders.
• Structure and negotiate financing solutions that optimise returns relative to risk.
• Build and maintain relationships with key SME market stakeholders.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of client portfolios.
• Stay informed on industry regulations, market dynamics and economic trends to adapt investment strategies.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business field with at least a Financial Accounting 2 level.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in business investment, corporate finance or a related finance role.
• Experience in auditing, banking, financial accounting or sales/marketing is advantageous.
• Strong analytical abilities, results‑orientation and excellent negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
