Internal Auditor

About the role

We are a well‑established organisation in the industrial and distribution sector seeking a driven Internal Auditor to join our Head Office team. You will help identify business risks, strengthen internal controls and improve operational processes in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct operational, financial and compliance audits across multiple business units.
• Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
• Review business processes to identify risks and enhance efficiency.
• Perform branch, inventory and ad‑hoc audits.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports and monitor corrective actions.
• Analyse financial and operational data to spot trends, irregularities and potential risks.
• Assist with investigations and risk‑management initiatives.
• Maintain independence, professionalism and confidentiality while building strong working relationships.
• Travel regularly within South Africa and occasionally to other African countries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Internal Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Forensic Accounting or a related discipline.
• Approximately three years of experience in Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk Management or Compliance.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA) or an Honours qualification in Internal Auditing or Forensic Accounting is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and report‑writing abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable transport and a passport.
• Willingness to travel extensively.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SYSPRO.

What we offer

• Competitive total‑cost‑to‑company package ranging from R360 000 to R450 000 per annum.
