General Ledger Accountant

About the role

Redheads Group is recruiting a General Ledger Accountant to join a financial services client’s Germany Client Accounting Team. The role focuses on high‑quality financial reporting, account reconciliations and bookkeeping under German Commercial GAAP (HGB) and IFRS, supporting capital markets, private equity and real‑estate activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver financial statements and reports in accordance with German GAAP and IFRS.
• Perform account reconciliations and day‑to‑day bookkeeping for complex special purpose vehicle structures.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting frameworks.
• Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Provide timely support to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Collaborate with the Team Leader – Client Accounting Financial Services South Africa.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across all accounting deliverables.

Required profile

• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and strict deadlines.
• Proven experience in financial reporting under German GAAP.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external parties.
• Experience working with complex SPV structures is advantageous.
