Commercial Claims Team Manager

About the role

Brolink is seeking an experienced Commercial Claims Team Manager to lead its claims department in Centurion. The role focuses on delivering exceptional client service, overseeing claim processing, and driving team performance in line with the company’s vision and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide proactive, innovative claims handling that exceeds customer expectations.
• Manage performance issues, disciplinary matters, attendance, and staff turnover.
• Conduct weekly team meetings, one‑on‑one discussions and monitor task adherence.
• Identify, investigate and resolve claim challenges while meeting SLAs and turnaround times.
• Authorize and validate claims outside standard staff mandates and ensure compliance with supervision and record‑keeping requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients, ensuring timely responses to queries.
• Monitor use of approved suppliers, audit monthly claim performance and manage outstanding claim listings.
• Analyse training needs, provide reports to the Claims Portfolio Manager and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Matriculation, FAIS credits, and a fit‑and‑proper status under the FAIS Act.
• 5‑10 years of commercial claims experience in short‑term insurance, covering motor and non‑motor lines.
• Experience with engineering, travel, agriculture, commercial crime or cyber insurance is advantageous.
• Strong leadership, planning, stress tolerance and client‑service orientation.
• Excellent communication, decision‑making and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Internet research and general tech understanding.
• Solid knowledge of insurance principles and claim processing.
• Ability to summarise, analyse and evaluate data.
• Capability to design and implement new processes.
