Industrial Refrigeration Technician (TC 90)

About the role

Our client, a leading South African engineering firm, is seeking an Industrial Refrigeration Technician to support retail customers across Gauteng. The role involves on‑site assessment, repair and maintenance of commercial refrigeration equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct weekly visits to retail stores to assess refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Inspect store equipment, identify faults and prepare detailed repair reports.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on self‑contained refrigeration units, cold rooms, display cases and related electrical equipment.
• Communicate estimated repair timelines and progress updates to customers.
• Manage vehicle stock levels to ensure required parts and tools are available.
• Maintain company vehicle standards, including cleanliness and service compliance.
• Continuously improve technical knowledge of refrigeration systems and stay updated on industry developments.

Required profile

• Relevant experience with commercial refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Ability to work independently on site and manage customer expectations.
• Commitment to ongoing technical learning in refrigeration technology.
