Independent Contract Lecturer – Hospitality Management

About the role
The Independent Contract Lecturer will teach Culinary Studies (theory and practical) within the Diploma in Hospitality Management programme at the Highveld Campus, Centurion. You will design and deliver lectures, lead discussions, and run practical sessions to support student learning.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, workshops and tutorials, updating course content as needed.
- Design and administer assessments, grade work and provide constructive feedback.
- Offer academic advice, hold consultation hours and respond to student queries.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, ensuring alignment with industry standards and accreditation.
- Engage in continuous professional development and collaborate on teaching‑related research.
- Manage administrative tasks such as attendance, grading records and committee participation.
- Promote an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners.
Required profile
- Degree (NQF Level 7) in Hospitality Management with a specialisation in Culinary Arts/Studies.
- Prior lecturing experience, both in‑person and online, is advantageous.
- Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Required skills
- Digital literacy for incorporating technology into teaching.
