Inbound Marketer

About the role

DotActiv, a provider of category management software and advisory services for the retail market, is looking for an Inbound Marketer in Cape Town. The role suits someone who wants to build a career in B2B marketing within the retail software industry, focusing on customer acquisition, high-impact content creation and an innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the inbound marketing engine with AI-assisted content creation and internal technical knowledge.
• Create articles, case studies, emails and lead magnets aligned to customer journeys.
• Use generative AI tools to draft, repurpose and scale content.
• Interview internal Subject Matter Experts to extract technical domain knowledge for marketing assets.
• Track traffic, conversion rates and MQLs using CRM and marketing platforms.
• Optimise SEO so content ranks well in search engines.
• Research industry benchmarks and learn best practices for SEO, copywriting and AI prompting.
• Turn long-form content into short-form assets, social posts or infographics.
• Update and optimise older blog posts and landing pages to extend their life and improve conversions.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in B2B content or inbound marketing; SaaS experience is a strong advantage.
• Daily, proven use of AI tools for research, copywriting and content ideation.
• Solid understanding of inbound marketing, lead generation funnels and SEO basics.
• Exceptional written English with a sharp eye for editing and technical accuracy.
• Team player with strong organisation and prioritisation skills, self-motivated and results oriented.
• A degree in Marketing, Communications or Business is preferred.
