YouTube Strategist & Scriptwriter (Business Niche)

About the role

A remote, full-time YouTube strategist and scriptwriter role for a business channel with 70k+ subscribers. You will ideate and write the videos the creator films, starting at four scripts a week across two channels, for an audience that is already there. The work is roughly 50% ideation, 30% scripting and 20% quality control, with a weekly 1:1 with the Head of YouTube.

Key responsibilities

• Ideate video concepts, angles, titles and formats, then filter down to the strongest ones using a proven process.
• Write four scripts a week: three for the main business channel and one for an AI-avatar channel.
• Review the first two passes of each edit, checking hook, pacing and retention, and leave timestamped notes for the editors.
• Work with the editing team and the thumbnail designer, and report back to the Head of YouTube.

Required profile

• Has written long-form YouTube scripts that performed and can explain why, with links and numbers.
• Can reverse-engineer a video and explain its hook, open loops and retention points.
• Writes English at native or near-native level, for a US audience.
• Can overlap at least 4 hours a day with US Eastern business hours.
• Not for writers who need a finished brief, who want to write essays, or who want a generalist content role.

Required skills

• Direct-response writing (VSLs, emails, ads, webinars) is a bonus.
• Familiarity with tools such as 1of10 or VidIQ is a bonus.
• Editing literacy so that quality-control notes speak the editors' language is a bonus.

• $2,000-$5,000 USD per month, paid as a monthly base plus a performance component tied to video results.
• Remote work from anywhere, with internal promotion and more scope as results come in.
