Implementation & Continuous Improvement Manager (Logistics)

About the role

Africa Global Logistics South Africa (AGL) is hiring a permanent, full-time Implementation & Continuous Improvement Manager for its contract logistics business in Johannesburg. The role implements warehousing and production logistics solutions while managing stakeholder expectations during implementation, and helps design, plan and improve warehousing and production logistics operations. It works closely with the Operations team and other internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and support warehousing and production logistics solutions, and monitor the benefits of changes
• Apply tools such as material flow mapping, warehouse and layout design, inventory slotting, and project management (including AQP facilitation)
• Analyse data, processes and facilities, and make recommendations
• Plan, document, execute, monitor, control and close projects, applying risk management principles
• Manage client relationships, support contract development and negotiation, and support supplier selection and management
• Lead and influence groups, including Advance Quality Planning (AQP)

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering or a relevant three-year qualification, or Project Management training
• 2 years in a logistics environment, including WMS implementation
• 1 year of warehouse and operational management experience with knowledge of best practices and legal compliance
• Leadership experience

Required skills

• Microsoft Visio and Project (advanced)
• ERP systems, basic AutoCAD, data analysis, SQL and Microsoft Access (basic)
• Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query, DAX and Python (mathematical modelling)
