Human Resources Specialist

About the role

The Human Resources Specialist will support Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa’s people strategy by managing end‑to‑end HR operations. This role blends service excellence with people experience, ensuring talent practices are seamless, compliant with South African labour law, and aligned with the luxury hospitality standards of the property.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with department heads to forecast staffing needs, conduct recruitment, screen CVs, interview candidates and manage offers.
• Design and deliver structured onboarding programmes, ensure completion of statutory documentation and coordinate induction with department leaders.
• Advise line managers on policy application, facilitate conflict resolution and promote a positive workplace climate.
• Coordinate the performance management cycle, integrate guest feedback into objectives and support recognition programmes.
• Conduct training needs analyses, create annual training calendars and maintain training records for compliance.
• Maintain compliance with South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA, OHSA, POPIA) and hotel policies, support audits and implement corrective actions.
• Administer payroll inputs and support compensation, benefits and related HR processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR within a hospitality or service‑focused environment.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR compliance requirements.
• Ability to partner with line managers, influence culture and manage confidential HR data.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a focus on delivering seamless employee experiences.
