Human Resources & Payroll Manager

About the role

The client, a construction company, is looking for a dedicated Human Resources & Payroll Manager to oversee payroll and HR functions for approximately 150 employees, with growth expected. You will work independently, ensuring full compliance with South African labour legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Process and manage the full payroll cycle for a growing workforce.
• Administer all HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
• Ensure strict adherence to Labour Law, BCEA, BCCEI, BBBEE, EEA, and WSP/ATR regulations.
• Maintain accurate employee records and generate statutory reports.
• Provide guidance on HR policies and resolve employee queries.

Required profile

• Diploma or BCom in Human Resource Management.
• Proven experience in HR and payroll within the construction or engineering sector.
• Ability to work autonomously in a stand‑alone role.
• Fluency in multiple South African languages.

Required skills

• Proficiency with an ERP payroll system.
• Advanced Excel skills.
